It wasn't too long ago that both the AT&T and Verizon Galaxy S5s got root access, however there wasn't a way to install any custom ROMS since there wasn't a custom recovery for the locked bootloader Galaxy S5s, not until now. We finally have Safestrap recovery for the AT&T Galaxy S5 SM-G900A and Verizon Galaxy S5 SM-G900V.
With Safestrap recovery it creates virtual partitions that allows you to install custom ROMS, perform Nandroid backups/restores, and pretty much anything else ClockworkMod and TWRP recovery allow you to do!
Another bonus to Safestrap recovery is that it allows you to boot into multiple custom ROMS with the use of virtual partitions. This allows you to switch between a couple of ROMS whenever you feel like it!
Follow the guide below to install Safestrap recovery for AT&T Galaxy S5 SM-G900A and Verizon Galaxy S5 SM-G900V!
Requirements:
- You must be rooted, if your not follow this very easy root guide.
- Have Busybox installed on your Galaxy S5, if you don't install it from the Play Store. Also open up the app and grant Superuser request.
- Have external SD card in your Galaxy S5.
- Uninstall Xposed Framework if you have it installed (you can install it back after the Safestrap recovery process).
1. Go into Settings > Security > and check mark "Unknown sources".

Verizon: Safestrap-KLTEVZW-NCG-3.75-B03.apk
3. Locate the APK file using a file manager app (it will be located in the phone's "Download" folder if you downloaded it directly to your phone).
4. Tap on the APK file and select "Install", then choose "Open".
5. It will ask you to grant Superuser request. Select "Grant".
6. A disclaimer will pop up, tap on "Agree".
7. Lastly, tap on "Install Recovery" and it will install Safestrap recovery on your AT&T/Verizon Galaxy S5.
You're done! You can tap on "Reboot into Recovery" to enter into Safestrap recovery. You will notice that this recovery is very similar to TWRP recovery.
Note: I HIGHLY recommend you choose "Backup" to perform a Nandroid backup before you go any further so if something ever goes wrong you can restore your phone from the latest backed up version.
