New LG Tech Hides Fingerprint Sensors Away
LG’s Fingerprint Sensor in Glass Front Panel
Fingerprint sensors seem to be the norm on modern smartphone though they are assimilated with a button of some type. Intending to create smoother and simpler devices, LG Innotek, the division of the company which produces components and materials has integrated a fingerprint sensor in the glass front panel but from beneath the sheet instead of in front or on top. It means that it is totally hidden away; more resistant to damage though crucially tends to have the same level of accuracy expected from a regular exposed fingerprint sensor.
The new fingerprint sensor enables users to only place their finger on the glass of their phone screen and the sensor beneath tends to identify the print. The benefit of this is that in view of LG, is the capability for waterproof of phone as well as better prevention of scratches. LG has crafted a small 0.01 groove on the underside of a glass screen cover to lodge the fingerprint module, as proof of the idea. Having the sensor hidden away on the inner side, phone designers would need to think productively on how to reveal its location. LG states that the module tends to have an accuracy of 99.998% which means that it will only falsely recognize someone else’s print 0.002% of the time.
Fingerprint Sensors on Phones – Immediately Obvious

Invisible Sensor – False Acceptance Rating – FAR 0.002%
LG asserts that the invisible sensor has a false acceptance rating – FAR of 0.002% which is a possibility of it accepting someone’s fingerprint as your own. Though it is great for our own security, it is an essential if LG prefers to use the new fingerprint sensor on Android phones. According to Googles’ documentation, a FAR rating not greater that 0.002% seems to be a requirement for sensors utilised with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
While the new under glass fingerprint sensor has been announced, with LG Innotek developing a special adhesive in order to stick the sensor to the underside of the panel, there is no sign of when it would go into mass production, ready for the use on a real phone. The G5 had been revealed by LG recently but some have been expecting it to show off a sequel to the V10 later in the year.

LG's new Fingerprint Reader Sits Under a Smartphone Screen

Fingerprint readers seem to be abundant in the designs of smartphone with queries like, whether they should include them or where to accommodate them. While some of the manufacturers have opted in adding readers in the button on the front or raised area on the back of the devices, LG Innotek has come up with a latest idea of putting it under the screen of the phone.
The LG associate had announced that it had created a new fingerprint sensor which has been inserted into a small 0.01 inch space cut in the underside of smartphone glass cover enabling the designers of the device to include fingerprint reader without committed button, pads or other exposed components. LG has stated that the fingerprint recognition rates on the under-glass module are comparable to button-kind sensor and could reduce any kind of smartphone malfunctions, together with bonus of enabling phone to be waterproof as well as scratch-resistant or only designed to appear sleeker.
No announcement has been made yet by the company whether it would be utilising this new module in any of the upcoming phone. However a spokesperson of LG had informed the Korea Times that the company is in talks with some smartphone manufacturers in order to commercialize the new sensors, within the year.
LG’s Fingerprint Sensor under the Display
Few years ago, Apple had begun pioneering smartphone fingerprint sensors in its smartphone with the iPhone 5s and since then various manufacturers had introduced fingerprint sensors on their smartphones. Presently, LG is pioneering and is touting its new fingerprint sensor which tends to sit under the display which means that when one tends to place their finger on the cover glass of the display, the under glass fingerprint sensor module seems to automatically identify your fingerprint.
As announced by Jongseok Park, CEO of LG Innotek, the under glass fingerprint sensor module will eliminate dedicated buttons, pad or other elements for fingerprint recognition and will also help in making the smartphone more water resistant by decreasing the number of openings. This could also be the cause of slimmer devices in the near future.
LG Innotek has mentioned that it has cut 0.01-inch slot towards the back of the cover display glass and has set up a fingerprint sensor in it with `supreme precision and combination technology’.
Fingerprint Sensor Module – False Acceptance Rate – FAR
It has also been stated that the fingerprint sensor module tends to have a false acceptance rate – FAR of 0.002%. Besides this, LG also informs that the adherence side of the glass as well as the fingerprint sensor is 0.0098-inch thick, with the capability of resisting the impact of a 130 gram steel ball dropped from 7.9-inch. Changhwan Kim, Head of Research and Development Centre LG has mentioned that they are concentrating on all resources to the development of the differentiated technology based on the creation of customer value and will continue to provide convenient, safe and pleasant user experience by launching innovative product.
LG has not disclosed when precisely we would start seeing this technology in smartphone or the other devices. In December last year, the company had been tipped to supply Oled displays for their forthcoming iPhone models.

How to Enter into Recovery Mode on LG G3!

Follow the guide below to enter into Recovery Mode on the LG G3.
1. Power off your phone by pressing the power button and selecting "Power off" and then choosing "OK".
2. Press and hold the power button and volume down button at the same time.
3. Keeping holding, when you see the LG boot up screen let go of the power button and volume down button for 1 second and then press and hold the power button and volume button at the same time again.
4. You should now see "Factory data reset", if you don't then repeat steps 1-3.
5. If your on a custom recovery like ClockworkMod (CWM) or TWRP recovery select "Yes" and then "Yes" again and that will enter you into CWM or TWRP recovery. It will NOT do a factory reset.
If you are on stock recovery, you don't have CWM or TWRP recovery installed then it will do a factory reset!

How to Enter into Download Mode on LG G3!

Follow the guide below to enter into Download Mode on the LG G3.
1. Power off your phone by pressing the power button and selecting "Power off" and then choosing "OK".
2. Press and hold the volume up on your LG G3.
3. While still holding the volume up, plug in a microUSB cable into your phone.
Make sure the USB side is already plugged into the computer before starting step 3.
4. You should start to see "Download Mode" for a few seconds and then it will show "Firmware Update". You are now in Download Mode!

How to Root LG G3!

The LG G3 is out and that means one thing, time to get that phone rooted! This guide will show you a step-by-step guide, both written (below) and in a video format (above) on how to root the LG G3 for Windows, Mac, and Linux/Ubuntu.
The overall process is simple and only takes a few hits of the enter key to get your LG G3 rooted literally within minutes. Be sure to check the list below and to confirm that your LG G3 is able to be rooted!
This root guide is compatible with:
- AT&T D850 (10D) LG G3
- T-Mobile D851 (10C) LG G3
- Korean F400L (10A/B) LG G3
- Korean F400S (10A/B) LG G3
- Korean F400K (10A/B) LG G3
- Open D855 (10E/F/G) LG G3
- European D855 (10A) LG G3
If you don't know your model number or firmware version go into Settings > General > About phone > Software information. Look at the last 3 characters of Build number to see if your phone is compatible.
This root guide will NOT wipe your phone, but backup your phone just in case!!
Now let's get the LG G3 rooted!

1. Go into Settings > General > About phone >Software information > tap on "Build number" for about 8 times until it says "You are now a developer".
2. Go back into Settings > General > Developer options and check mark USB debugging.
3. Plug in your LG G3 to your computer via microUSB.
4. Pull down your notification shade > tap on "Media device (MTP) > and select "Send images (PTP)".
5. Download PurpleDrake-Lite.zip using the download link below.
Skip step 6 if you're on Mac/Linux/Ubuntu
If you don't see that exact text then download and install LG G3 drivers using the link below.
7. Unzip PurpleDrake-Lite.zip
8. Open up PurpleDrake-Lite folder and follow the text below depending on what computer OS you have.
Windows:
Double click on "purpledrake_windows.bat"
Mac:
Double click on "purpledrake_osx.command"
Linux/Ubuntu:
Right click on "purpledrake_linux.sh" > Properties > Permissions > check mark "Allow executing file as program". Now double click on "purpledrake_linux.sh" and choose "Run in Terminal".
9. Press enter then look at your LG G3 screen. "Allow USB debugging?" will pop up, select "OK". If this happens more than once keep tapping on "OK".
Tip: If you get stuck with "Waiting for device..." for more than 5 minutes close the program and relaunch it.
10. It will now show you your phone info, press enter to continue.
11. It will show "Press [enter] to continue..." again. Press enter.
12. One last time, it will show "Press [enter] to continue..." press enter. Your phone will now reboot.
You can check that you are rooted by installing a root app like Titanium Backup and see if you get SuperSU/Superuser request. If you do then you are confirmed rooted!

After the initial setup I went ahead and swiped across the homepages and to my surprise, there wasn't a single sign of lag. Not a single one! With other flagship devices like the Galaxy S5 you always get a little hint of lag at the very first bootup, but not with the the LG G3.
Overall I am very satisfied with the LG G3, but time will tell if I will always feel this way.

LG Launches its G Pad Tablet Range-7.0 Tablet Arrives In Europe this week
The Korean Electronics Giant-LG Electronics Officially confirmed its new range of G Pad tablets will arrive starting from this week in Europe.
Initially only 7’’ Inch G Pad Tab will be up for sale in Europe but Company has announced its 8” and 10.1’’ Inch will be available for sale in coming weeks. It will be available in Black, White, blue, red and orange.
Features of 7’’Inch G Pad Tablet

- 1.2GHz quad Processor and 1GB RAM
