How to Install Custom ROMS using Safestrap on Galaxy Note 3!
With the AT&T SM-N900A and Verizon SM-N900V Galaxy Note 3s having a locked bootloader the entire Android development was completely dead, until the release of Safestrap Recovery. Using Safestrap Recovery you can install custom ROMS even with the Galaxy Note 3 having a locked bootloader.
The Safestrap Recovery creates new "virtual" partitions slots where you can install custom ROMS, completely bypassing the whole bootloader process and essentially creating its own "ecosystem" to install ROMS and other flash zip files from!
To make things ever better this custom recovery allows you to boot multiple ROMS too! You have the option to install as many as 4 custom ROMS all on your Galaxy Note 3 and switch between them whenever you feel like it!
Follow the guide below to install ROMS on AT&T or Verizon Galaxy Note 3 using Safestrap Recovery!
Note: Your Galaxy Note 3 needs to be rooted, follow one of these guides to root the AT&T or Verizon Galaxy Note 3.
1. Download the Safestrap APK directly to your AT&T or Verizon Galaxy Note 3 using the links below.
Download Safestrap APK for AT&T SM-N900A Galaxy Note 3
Download Safestrap APK for Verizon SM-N900V Galaxy Note 3
2. Using a file manager application, like ES File Explorer navigate to the downloads folders and tap on the Safestrap APK and install it.
If your denied access you need to go into Settings and check mark "Unknown Sources" then try again.
3. Now open up the Safestrap app and grant Superuser request.
4. Select "Install Recovery" and the app will install the custom Safestrap Recovery for the Galaxy Note 3.
5. Reboot your Note 3 and you will see 2 options pop up. Boot into "RECOVERY" or "CONTINUE", tap on "RECOVERY".
6. After you entered into Safestrap Recovery you will see similar options to TWRP like "Install", "Backup" and "Wipe".
7. Before continuing you should make a "Backup" of your stock ROM that you can restore to later just in case something goes wrong when you flash a custom ROM.
To do this select "Backup" and it will save the file in /TWRP/backup.
8. Now we're going to create virtual partitions so we can start installing custom ROMS.
Tap on "Boot Options" and select any of the slots on the left side of the screen. I'm going to select "ROM-Slot-1" for obvious reasons.
You can install it over the stock ROM, but you really shouldn't!
9. Now you have the options to change the size of the system, data, and cache partitions.
You should leave everything the same except the "Data partition size". Change the size depending on how much room you need including future app installation space and other personal content.
10. Now tap on "Create ROM Slot". This will create your virtual partition for your Galaxy Note 3.
11. When complete "ROM-Slot-1" should now be highlighted, indicating that "ROM-Stock-1" is going to boot up.
Now we need to install a custom ROM.
12. Go back to the main menu and choose "Wipe".
13. Now tap on "Install" on the main menu and locate the ROM you want to install and select it. Slide your finger to confirm the installation.
14. Once complete tap on "Reboot System" and your Galaxy Note 3 will boot into the new custom ROM you just installed!

How to Unlock SIM on AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3! [SM-N900A/SM-N900T]
A couple of years ago a law was made that made it illegal to unlock cell phones, even after the 2 year activation period unless done by the proper carrier.
This is ridiculous as after the 2 year contract of owning the phone you should be able to do anything with that phone! Luckily their is some resistant and may be reversed, hopefully sooner than later!
Your Galaxy Note 3 needs to be rooted. Use these guides to root the AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3.
Due to legal issues we cannot post a guide here, but you can follow a step by step to SIM unlock the AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 at the XDA forum.
This guide (link above) is very easy to follow and can be completed within minutes for free! It has been confirmed by many users and both data and voice work with the SM-N900A AT&T and SM-N900T T-Mobile when used on another carrier.
It has also been confirmed that the unlock stays after you do a factory reset, most likely making this a permanent solution and not just a software fix.

How to Root AT&T Galaxy Note 3!
This guide will show you step-by-step how to root your SM-N900A AT&T Galaxy Note 3. This root method is going to be a little different than your usual Samsung rooting guides since Knox is included in the AT&T Galaxy Note 3.
With Samsung Knox security the Android community needed to find a work around to root the device without alerting the security software and letting Samsung know you modified your device some way.
Currently this guide will root your AT&T Galaxy Note 3, but there is still no way of installing a custom recovery (CWM/TWRP) yet. Once the Android community finds a way I will be releasing a guide on this site, so stayed tuned!
Follow the guide below to root the AT&T Galaxy Note 3!
This will delete EVERYTHING from your phone! BACK IT UP!
1. Remove external SD card from your phone if you have one.
2. Now enter into Download Mode by turning off your phone. Then press and hold the volume down, power button, and home button at the same time. You will get to a screen to ask you to press the volume up to continue, press it.
3. Now plug in your microUSB to your phone and the USB cable to your computer.
4. Download and extract N900AUCUBMI9_VEGA.7z using the link below:
Download N900AUCUBMI9_VEGA.7z
5. In the extracted folder you will get "N900AUCUBMI9_OneClickBin" application. Click start and wait about 5-10 minutes until it passes and your phone reboots.
Also you should get a yellow or blue box at the top of the application, if you do not then install Samsung USB drivers and try again.
6. Enter into Download Mode again (repeat step 2) and keep your phone plugged into the computer.
7. Now open "Odin3 v3.09". Then select "AP" and locate and select "Root_de_la_Vega.tar" file. This file was in the same extracted folder as Odin.
8. Now click "Start" at the bottom of Odin. This process will take 5-10 minutes so be PATIENT! Do not touch your phone! After the process is complete your Galaxy Note 3 will automatically reboot in the normal state.
9. Now unzip Root_de_la_Vega.zip, this file is located in the extracted "N900AUCUBMI9_VEGA" folder.
10. With your phone still plugged in transfer "root_de_la_vega.sh" and "root_files" (folder) to your phone. NOTE: Do not transfer these files into a folder, just the general phone directory!
11. Now reboot your phone by holding the power button and then selecting restart.
12. With your phone plugged into your computer delete both "root_de_la_vega.sh" and "root_files" (folder) from your phone.
